Loud is built privacy-first. Your gig data stays on your device. We don't run accounts, we don't have a server that stores your gigs, and we don't sell or share your information. This policy explains the few limited cases where data leaves your phone — all of them in service of making the app work.
01 Who we are
Loud ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS application that lets you record and remember the live music gigs you've been to. Loud is operated as an independent project. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@heyloud.app.
02 The short version
- Your gig data — artists, venues, dates, photos, notes, set lists, who you went with — is stored locally on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud.
- We have no account system. We never ask for your name, email, or password to use the app.
- We don't track you across apps or websites, and we don't run advertising.
- A small amount of diagnostic and subscription data is processed by trusted third parties strictly to keep the app working and to manage Loud+ subscriptions.
03 Data stored on your device
Everything you create in Loud is saved in local storage on your iPhone. This includes your gig entries, wishlist, photos and memorabilia images you attach, voice notes (Loud+), set lists, outfit and budget notes, badges, and app settings.
Photos you add to a gig are read from your photo library only when you select them, and copies are kept within the app's own storage. Loud's optional photo-scan feature reads photo metadata (date and location) on your device to suggest possible gigs — this analysis happens entirely on-device and nothing is uploaded.
04 iCloud Backup
If you enable iCloud backup for Loud, your gig data is stored in your own private iCloud account, governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We never have access to this data — it moves directly between your device and your personal Apple iCloud. You can disable it at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
05 Location
Loud uses location only to turn coordinates into a city or venue name (reverse-geocoding), so your gigs show where they happened. This is performed using Apple's on-device mapping framework. We do not store a location history, we do not send your location to our own servers, and we do not use location for advertising or tracking.
06 Third-party services
The app relies on a small number of third parties for specific functions. Each receives only the minimum data needed.
RevenueCat (subscription management)
Loud+ subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes purchase information and an anonymous app-generated user identifier to confirm your subscription status. This identifier is not linked to your name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Sentry (crash & diagnostics)
To find and fix bugs, Loud uses Sentry to report crashes and performance diagnostics. This includes technical data such as device model, OS version, and error traces. It does not include your gig data and is not linked to your identity — we do not set any user identifier in Sentry. See Sentry's privacy policy.
Apple Music (catalogue search)
When you search for an artist or album to attach to a gig, the search term is sent to Apple's Music catalogue API to return matching results. No personal data or gig data is sent with these requests. Apple's handling is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Ticketing & event partners
Loud may link out to ticketing partners (such as Skiddle) so you can buy tickets. Following such a link opens that partner's website in a browser. Any data you provide there is handled under that partner's own privacy policy. We may include an affiliate code in these links; this does not transmit any personal data about you.
07 What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not build advertising profiles or run ads in the app.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not require an account, email address, or password.
- We do not store your gig data on our own servers.
08 Data retention & deletion
Because your gig data lives on your device, you control it entirely. You can delete individual gigs at any time, or use Delete All Data in Settings to wipe everything from the device. Deleting the app removes its local data. If you used iCloud backup, manage or remove that data through iOS Settings → iCloud. Subscription records held by RevenueCat are retained per their policy; you can request deletion by contacting us.
09 Children
Loud is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As the app collects no personal information through accounts, no child-specific data is gathered.
10 Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the UK and EEA under UK GDPR / GDPR, and California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing. Since Loud holds your gig data only on your own device and collects no account data, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the app. For data held by our processors (RevenueCat, Sentry), contact us and we will assist.
In one line: Loud keeps your music memories on your phone, not on our servers. The little data that does leave your device exists only to keep the app running and your subscription valid.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of Loud after changes means you accept the updated policy.
